Healing Our Relations With the Earth
"The journey of a thousand miles starts from beneath your feet"

Our bodies are of this earth--made of the same stuff as deer and bear, trees and oceans.  Even if we inhabit giant cities where "nature" is not much in evidence, we live in the wilderness--the vast and mysterious wilderness of our human bodies.  Like the outer wilderness, our inner wilderness is full of power and promise, pleasure and danger.  Navigating any kind of wilderness requires respect, skill, and practice.

Wherever we live, ecology begins at home.  If we scrupulously buy compact fluorescent light bulbs and organic foods but push ourselves ceaselessly, treating the body like a machine, we're missing something.

My work aims to cultivate our ability to match intention with action, to live with integrity, intelligence and joy in our wild world.  It aims to heal our relationships with each other and the earth--one body, one breath, one gesture at a time.
